today reminded me how quickly a small disappointment can convince us the whole day is ruined.
it wasn't the inconvenience that scared me.
it was how ready i was to let it become the headline.
so i stepped away.
not because everything suddenly felt okay, but because i knew if i stayed in that moment, i'd start making decisions from my frustration instead of myself.
when i came back, nothing around me had changed.
but i had.
i think that's something i've overlooked for a long time.
we often pray for God to change our circumstances.
sometimes His first answer is the strength to walk away before our circumstances change us.
maybe growth isn't measured by how rarely we lose our footing.
maybe it's measured by how willing we are to stop, breathe, and choose a better next step.
maybe that's mercy too.
